Start to be great, don't be great to start

Since inception, the idea of human resource itself conceptualized without considering the most fundamental concept of humans. The reason being, anything that we see, is a type of commodity which can be defined in terms of usability and potential. Whereas, one cannot define “humans” in terms of usability and potential. Humans are filled with unlimited possibilities, therefore one cannot justify “humans” as a resource. Humans are possibility.

Since we have started with a very bold statement, let us be very clear on a few points before we go further. First of all, even if you are going to follow every piece of thought in the blog, you’re never going to get it right because it’s about humans and written by a human. Secondly, we are going to discuss here right from hiring a suitable candidate to reinventing them to recognize their possibilities but each situation is different. The realities of recruiting may differ from your ideal scenario. We will discuss all the components of engaging right set of people to build an organization. Let’s start with most essential building block called communication, that too of a person who has the responsibility of engaging people. 

Constructive communication

Communication is a two-way process where minimum two individual, i.e sender and receiver engaged with an intent of creating a shared understanding. When we talk about two individual, the dialogue has to be constructive to be successful. 

When we talk about recruitment cycle, the very first necessary thing is to select among the available resources within an organization who understand the requirement and the importance of hiring a candidate with suitable skills. These sets of people who are meant to monitor or conduct the hiring process should be well qualified themselves and should possess an understanding of prioritizing the skill sets which they are looking for in the candidates. 

It is hereby to be noted that these sets of people should possess a sound proficiency in communications, both verbal as well as written as that would be the main medium to interact with the candidates and make them aware of the organizational goals and needs. The right content delivered is equally proportional to the hiring of the right candidates.

Defining role

Predefining the job roles and laying out the specifications of a job post not only helps the candidates to find themselves suitable for a particular job and apply for it, but also would save the time for the recruiters in the hiring process. While defining the job role, an organization should look after more than just the subjective side of job to build a lively place rather than robotic.

Defining the job roles gives an insight to the candidates beforehand as to what they are intended to do, what are the organization’s expectations and at what level they are expected to perform in that particular organization. This also facilitates the candidates prepare themselves for the upcoming responsibilities.

Sourcing and selection of candidate

Every organization is built up keeping some base goals.  In order to accomplish these goals, organizations constantly keep on looking for the right set of resources to deliver it.  Since skill demand differs from company to company, it is very important to select the right source. 

Workplace


Selection of the right candidates is a very cumbersome yet beneficial process as it solely decides where the system would be in a stipulated timestamp. An organization grows only when the organizational goals are in-line with the candidate’s goals. The personal goals of an individual may vary from one to another. Organizations need to examine these candidates and freeze the ones whose goals are in line with that of the organization. 

Sourcing and selection of candidate is to analyze and ensure the future performance of a candidate and it can be anticipated based on his/her past activities as well as the present commitment towards goals.  All organizations have to do is to get the right ones among these and engage them properly towards achieving the organization’s goals.

Aligning people with mission, vision and roadmap

As is seen, each and every organization has some objective behind its establishment. These objectives haven’t just been setup in a day or two but, is a consequence result of proper thinking and planning. With the help of this thinking and planning, organizations set up their mission, vision and roadmap.

Although the terms Mission, Vision and Roadmap seem to be similar, they are different terms to be precise. ‘Mission‘ is the goal towards which the organization and its resources work together to achieve. ‘Vision‘ refers to the ideology or belief that the organization and its resources carry for achieving the goals. ‘Roadmap’ refers to the path that the organizations follow carrying a vision to achieve the goals.

Organizations need to keep their resources inline with their mission, vision and roadmap giving them an insight why they are present there and what are they are expected of doing.

Engaging people in the true spirit at workplace

Organization is build up from its people.  Also the growth of an organization depends upon the people functioning on it. Therefore, it becomes very important to enlist them in true spirit to ensure they are well connected to the mission and vision of the company.  Having said that, true engagement/change has to go from the bottom of the pyramid, each one of us needs to transform ourselves first before we expect from others.

True engagement also ensures the proper environment for each member of an organization to give their best to achieve a common mission defined at the workplace.  Since, it’s all about human, engagement should be founded upon trust and integrity.  And eventually, true engagement makes people echo the mission of a society as a true brand ambassador. 

It's all about intellectual and financial growth

Even though an organization engage people in business they conduct, but a company need to always remember that an somebody can perform well if their knowledge level is up to the mark and financially they are stable.  It is constantly advisable to connect people one-to-one to understand their knowledge and financial goal and help them achieve. 

Besides technical knowledge, an organization should also permit people to carry their passion. And by carrying passion, people always use the most natural state of mind.  And eventually, that helps people to recall how they need to organize their minds, ideas and thought to make sense of the world they live in.  

Motivation, thoughtfulness and critical thinking

Understanding and securing the external results is only possible once we are able to understanding the point from where results are going to come, and that is each member of the team.  Human by birth is thoughtful, and it is really important to nurture thoughtfulness to achieve meaningful through critical thinking.

Motivation, thoughtfulness and critical thinking is all required for the birth of new possibilities to transcend all limitations. Each one of us carry a unique personalities by birth and how we motivate ourselves for thoughtful and critical thinking make huge sense.

360 Degree analysis and measurement approach

There is a great deal of debate whether 360 degree analysis and measurement approach required in all department or not. At Nescode, we believe 360 degree analysis always helps to restructure the thought and improve further execution model.  But always need to remember, it should not one-sided, means how we come up with analysis and measurement approach makes a huge difference to build a successful system.  Perhaps, at a micro level the order of points to be discussed during analysis drive better outcomes.

360 degree analysis and measurement approach always should be at micro level with forward looking and broader view to keep people motivated.  The whole brainstorming session should be categorized into three major parts - Issue to understand the challenges, Approach to understand the pattern behaviour, Results to understand the last outcome.  All of us lacking in some way, but at the conclusion of the day what makes us more is the optimistic nature and forward looking approach.

World is a game of translation

Action purely depends upon translation of an object, event and people close to us. History has proved time to time that, individual/organization growth totally depends upon way they conceive or translate it.  And translation depends upon the inner architecture of self therefore to ensure people are syncing your action in a positive way, one need to build the appropriate stage and audience.

If we get a bit further, we are living in an open world where information is available on a finger tip that has the probability of turning people into one side to another side at point of time.  Therefore, setting up an environment to consume right and refined data will bring significant impact.

Be and make people sensitive

One of the most significant factors to understand in materialistic world is our sensitivity.  An individual and organizational achievement will only depend upon the sensitivity of people toward a particular object, event and people.  On top of it, the magnitude of success is directly relative to the degree of sensitivity.

Considering the challenges and vulnerability of the world that posses, one need to construct an atmosphere to promote the self sustainability of people instead of making them dependent.  We can accomplish this by making people sensitive to the realities of the world we live in. And the absolute best example of this is the nature itself, if we look at even the plant, tree, bird or animal also, it is all driven by self.

Conclusion

The whole ecosystem of people is a complex cycle, to understand it fully one need to try and fail. Before we judge anyone, we must analyze because if we go by history, change depends upon unreasonable people. Therefore, what is most important is - People, complete thought process, model and framework of an organization.  It should be constructed keeping in mind what truly matters. Worth mentioning the most fundamental phrase - An organization is of the people, by the people, for the people.
